Vegan pretzels

Juicy-salty pretzels – of course, this is vegan!

Ingredients for
1 Tsp.
Sugar
600 g
Wheat flour
40 g
Soft vegetable butter
150 ml
Lukewarm milk or vegetable drink
21 g
Fresh yeast
2 l
Water
2 Tsp.
Salt
6 tbsp.
Baking soda

Step 1/8

Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm milk and stir in the sugar.

Step 2/8

Add the flour, fine salt and butter and knead the dough for about 7-10 minutes.

Step 3/8

Form the dough into a ball and place it in a bowl, which you then cover with a cloth. Let the dough rest for 1 hour.

Step 4/8

Boil the lye from 2 l water and the sodium bicarbonate.

Step 5/8

Portion the dough into 80 g pieces and form the rolls, sticks or pretzels. Let the pastries rise again for 20 minutes.

Step 6/8

Let the pasta float in the lye for about 20 seconds.

Step 7/8

Then sprinkle them with coarse salt and place them on a baking sheet.

Step 8/8

Bake the pasta in a preheated oven at 200 °C top/bottom heat for about 15-20 minutes.
