If you have no idea of what buckwheat groats are, we are going to enlighten you: they simply are coarsely ground buckwheat grains. Do not let its name fool you: buckwheat is not related to wheat, and is not a grass, but a so-called pseudocereal. Pseudocereals are grains or seeds which can be used as cereals, even though they are not, botanically speaking.
