Organic whole cane sugar 1kg

It feels like they are always emerging new and exotic types of sugar. We don't want to be behind this trend so here is a new member of the sugar family: whole cane sugar! Also know as panela in Latin America or jaggery in parts of Asia, it is obtained by evaporating water from sugar cane juice.

The taste is full-bodied and has a slight molasses note. The cane sugar gets harvest and afterwards the sugar cane juice is pressed out of it with the help of a sugar mill. Afterwards the water evaporates and the whole mass becomes a thick sirup. The sirup is then filled into a form and hardens out into a block. Originally these blocks are sold in Colombia and the sugar is used to sweeten tea and coffee. Before it get's delivered to your home though, we pulverise it so you can sweeten up your porridge, rice pudding or bake with it.
