Cinnamomum Ceylanicum is a special type of cinnamon. Unlike cassia cinnamon, which comes from China, this variety cinnamon comes from Sri Lanka. Cassia cinnamon sticks are coarser and thicker, are also darker in colour, and have a more intense smell.
