Black beans – the nuttier among the beans

We cannot imagine life without beans. Why? Well, we could not list all the reasons here, but first and foremost because they are incredible versatile and nutritious, which is why they are a staple in so many cuisines. With more than 700 different varieties worldwide, beans are among the oldest cultivated plants in the world; each type is beautifully unique and here at KoRo we like to collect them: for example, we have red Azuki beans, green mung beans, and also unusual representatives like the quail beans (they look pretty cute, almost like little paintings). And of course - last but not least - our black beans.

Dried black beans are out!

You have placed your beautiful Ball Mason Jars nicely in your kitchen, making food and dried legumes a decorative element, and we couldn't agree more with this. Of course, our dried black beans are the absolute eye-catcher in the kitchen, especially if store in beautiful jars that make your kitchen shine. The problem with dried beans is the preparation, isn't it? Especially when you are in a hurry, it can be a real challenge..

We all know how it goes: the night before you wanted to soak your beans so that they would be ready to cook for your favourite Chili sin Carne the next day, but then you forgot – again. And so it begins: "no problem, I'll just let them cook 20 minutes longer". 20 minutes turn into 2 hours and the end result is anyway unsatisfactory, half-cooked beans which transform the plan to feast on Chili into drinking boozy Mezcal. We have nothing against Mezcal, but we think the Chili sin Carne paired with it should always be a real hit. That's why we have our ready-to-eat canned black beans also in a handy 12x tray for those who forget to soak their beans.
