That's because of the jam regulation - yes, it really exists! Jams must consist of at least 55% sugar, far too much for our taste. The term jam, in turn, has been reserved for citrus fruits since 2003. Thus, strawberry, quince or pear jam do not really exist. That is why we chose fruit spread: This is characterized by the fact that it contains significantly less additional sugar or other sweeteners than jam, marmalade and the like.
